the figure on Christmas Day was 79 million
so almost 25 million in the month since then!

this is why we, here in West Australia are so successful at controlling the spread of Covid:
today we had our first community case of covid for ten months,
a Security Officer working in a quarantine hotel for returned travellers contracted it from one of those travellers.
in response our State Govt imposed an immediate total lockdown of the State for one week.
it is now illegal to venture outside of our homes for any purpose without suitable masks and everyone must install an app on their phones to check in when entering public premises.
this is what needs to be done, this is what is being done
this is why we, here, have been the most successful place in the world for containment of the virus over the last 12 months...
other countries, States, regions etc take note.
swift decisive action by Govt's and compliance by the populous works, forget this "entitled" BS, it works!

I am patiently waiting for the vaccination. However after you get the first one and then the booster you still have to wear a mask and abide by the covid precautionary guidelines. When will it all end my friends ?

A local hospice, who shall remain nameless for now, has just received their quota of vaccines for the staff. Did the nurses who are on the frontline get their shots? Of course not. The vaccines were given out to the managers, who are 'working' from home and their families. What a bloody disgrace.

Too true. Most, not all, humans are just basically selfish. I see it all the time. People don't give a shit about others anymore. Sad state of affairs.
