He has dropped the Lil which only lasted for 2 albums. I guess he grew. Another album I don't know why I have. I do like 3 tracks on this listen
but none enough to think I would have bought it. No further explanation. Looks like the kid started out with small roles in movies. None I am
familiar with. Began rapping at age 6 under the name Kid Gangsta. Says he was performing at a concert in LA and Snoop Dog was in the house. He
took him under his wing and gave him the Bow Wow tag. Snoop has a guest spot on the Bow Wow track, which topped the rap chart. Most of the
tracks are featuring somebody. Looks like the guy currently hosts a tv show on BET called 106 & Park. No clue what that is. Hard to believe this
album has sold 3 million copies but sales were downhill from there.
I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM

Bizarre is a part of the Eminem possee in D-12.
as i loved all things Eminem around this time i would buy the odd off-shoot album, mainly 50cent, and obviously D-12, but also Bizzy's solo effort..
he always looks kinda goofy in videos ans on stage with his stupid showercap, smiley face shirt, long short pants and gumboots...
what made him stand out more than that was his size....he is one heck of a huge man(as in obese, not muscular!)...
just seemed to be made out the fool in the vid's also, you know, the band clown,
as a rapper...he sucks bigtime!he has no skills at all and to try to carry off a whole album, well, he simply cannot do it alone, but to spit a verse or a few lines on someone elses track, well, thats ok...he sort of breaks up the tracks in his own way...
songs on this one have got nothing going for them, even Eminem turns up on one track and he cannot lift it out of the basement...the whole thing sucks
nothing on here worth listening to...
there's like twenty tracks on here, almost half that if you discount the interludes and skits between the real songs...
only thing on here that comes close to being passable is the lead-off single "rock star"...
i wouldnt even know if there is a video for it,im assuming there is,but ive never seen it...
either way...its a piece of crap, nothing on here i like so a perfect score of 1.0 seems appropriate.
just one link going up here, that for the single "rock star"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAQuDFL1aA0 video(its cool,very lighthearted like Eminem's vids)

The debut collaboration between LA rapper Blu and producer Exile. One of my favored hip-hop albums of all time, it was hailed as an instant underground classic. Blu is an amazing MC! From his captivating flow, to the relatable subject matter and overall creativity his skills on the mic is an absolute joy to listen to. Accompany that with the beautiful soundscapes that Exile lays down, and you have one of the finer hip-hop albums of this early century.

The second release, self-titled album by Donny Hathaway. A man who I consider to be one of the best of the soul genre. The majority of the album is compiled of a collective of songs that were released around the same time, with Donny covering with his trademark gospel and soul influence. The album is nothing short of beautiful! Donny makes each song his own with a performance that conveys pure emotion. The second track, a cover of Leon Russell's "A Song For You," is a prime example of how good this guy is. Music that's uplifting it resonates with the soul and so beautiful it makes your heart hurt.

I love Donny! His performance live is very good!
One of the originals away back in the 80s!

CHI-LITES "the best of,on Brunswick volume II" cd
career stats:

Chi-Lites, pronounced "shy-lites" apparently???
band formed in 1959 but didnt get a recording contract until 1969...
i discovered these guys back in 1982 when The Jam covered their "stoned out of my mind" track...so impressed was i with that Jam version i sought out the original by these guys at a seconhand record shop, i bought it on vinyl, loved it and went back to find a few more singles...loved them also, bought a live album of theirs...loved that also...
eventually i bought this double cd set...
love the smooth soul sounds here and the vocalist's almost falsetto vocals...
this is 'cool' soul/r+b from the 1970s...very Marvin Gaye-ish sounds happening here, even to the extent of social commentary on some tracks, like Marvin on his "whats goin on" album...
lots of subtleties in the music also...i hear bits of jazz, blues, funk, soul, reggae, even country on one track(my heart just keeps on breakin)
fans of Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield/Impressions,Earth Wind & Fire, and Sly & The Family Stone will love these guys also IMO
