DR. DRE "chronic:2001" cd 2001
solo career stats:

singles................14
Grammy Awards...6(from 20 nominations)
this album: #2 US, #4 UK, #2 CAN
singles:
"still D.R.E"(featuring Snoop Dog)..............#93 US, #6 UK
"forget about dre"(featuring Eminem).........#25 US, #7 UK
"next episode"(feat:Snoop Dog/Nate Dog)...#23 US, #3 UK
"the watcher"...........................................no chart entry.
former NWA Gangster Rapper Dr.Dre's second solo album....
typical rap themes here....bitches,hoes,niggaz,guns,pimps etc etc...all the usual cliches are here.
i knew his name from the production on Eminem's first couple of albums and of course the occasional rap on Em's tracks like "guilty conscience" etc so i decided to buy
an album of his...its crap as you'd expect from rap, but hey, im open to almost anything musically.
like Emnem rapped on his fourth album "the eminem show"....every fan black that i got was probably his,in exchange, for every white fan that he's got"...which isnt too far from the truth...
i find Dre,real name Andre Young, likes to drop his own name in a lot of these tracks, much the same way as Jerry Lee Lewis does on his tracks...i find that very annoying to say the least...but whatever, the guy is the most successful hip-hop producer of all time, is worth an estimated $500million US net, so i guess he can have an ego.
very little on here to like except the couple of tracks Eminem raps on, the rest.....is rap with a capitol C!
so, nineteen tracks, three are likeable and thats all folks...
im not posting them all, just a couple of the Eminem ones which i like.
so an overall score of 1.1, and even that is pushing it IMO....
