EMINEM "raw and uncut" cd, 2006
an Australian exclusive release of hard to get hold of tracks which, unless you bought his singles, wouldnt have heard most of these...
nothing on here i do not like but the album as a whole is incoherrant, as in, it flits from subject to subject, unlike his regular studio albums which generally have an underlying theme throughout...
i get the feeling that this one was purely released to make money becasue of that...
although theres nothing bad on this one, there is only only one great Eminem track IMO, and that track is the funny "kids" in which he impersonates Cartman from that stupid South Park show...the message behind the track is quite serious though, whereby he tells kids 'dont do drugs because theyre bad for you' and 'leave 'em for me",
the rest of the album has various themes, and thankfully very little of the "bitches, hoes, niggaz" cliches we see all too much in rap music...
album is probably one for the Eminem purists and not for the casual listener/fan of his material.
I LIKE THIS ALBUM

EMINEM "the marshall mathers lp" cd, 2000
album stats: #1 US, #1 AU, #1 CAN, #1 UK(#1 in 19 other countries)
singles:
"the real slim shady".........#4 US, #11 AU, #6 CAN, #1 UK
"the way i am..................#58 US, #34 AU, #8 UK
"stan".............................#51 US, #1 AU, #1 UK(#1 in 21 other countries)
Em's third studio album...
not my favourite overall, but will probably score higher(my favourite is his followup "the eminem show" purely becasue he toned down the language on that one)...
this one contains what many would call his signature tune "stan" which is about an obsessed fan who ends up killing himself and his pregnant girlfriend in a car because Eminem hadnt replied to a a fan letter...why the heck did this one not sell very well in the US,very strange IMO!
elsewhere on this one we have the catchy "the real slim shady",another big hit...
the album recieved a lot of criticism(as did Eminem himself) for his comments regarding women, homosexuals and anyone else he could diss including his then wife Kim, whose song of the same name details how the Eminem character in the song was going to kill her...LOL.
look, this album sums up everything Eminem is and was, the majority of his songs are autobiographical in nature and this album is no different on many tracks which detail his tough upbringing by a single mum who basically popped pills all day, through to being bullied at school and even to his not being accepted in rap circles because he was "a scrawny little white kid"...
an excellent album and justifiably sold some thirty million units worldwide and still counting!
this is Eminem at his venom spitting best and well worth a listen if you havent already done so!
I LOVE THIS ALBUM

What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 08-12-2014
NO COVER ART AVAILABLE
EMINEM "psycho" 2004
a collection of tracks recorded around the same time as his debut album "infinite" and also between that one and his breakthrough set "the slim shady ip"...
one of them,"my name is" was re-recorded for the latter album under Dr.Dre's production...
its amazing just how good Dre is with his beats and production/studio work...
theres a few skits and between song interludes on here which shows this sort of thing was something 'em bought to dre for his albums and not the other way around...
surprisingly, this album is pretty good for the most part, but then again, he must have had something special back then for Dre to take notice and want to produce him, afterall Dre is the Quincy Jones of his genre...and if youve made it with him then youve made it,period.
i hear lines from other Eminem tracks on here and familliar melodies in places also, so im guessing Dre probably had a hand in getting Eminem to re-write some of these tracks and also swap and change things to make other songs out of raw ideas...
this really isnt an album i can score/rate, its more of a time capsule into the formative mind of a young white rapper from Detroit before the world heard of him.
alli can say is that this one is not essential listening for the casual listener but is a great insight in to the early workings of a young up and coming Marshall Mathers III
i cannot find any links for these songs on youtube neither.

EMINEM "relapse" cd, 2009
album stats: #1 US, #1 AU, #1 CAN, #1 UK
singles:
"crack a bottle"................#1 US, #18 AU, #1 CAN, #3 UK
"we made you"................#9 US,, #1 AU,, #6 CAN,, #4 UK
"3A.M"...........................#32 US, #38 AU, #24 CAN, #56 UK
"old times' sake".............#25 US, #75 AU, #14 CAN, #61 UK
"beautiful"......................#17 US, #33 AU, #8 CAN,, #12 UK
Eminem's sixth studio set and first after a four year break from music because of rehab stints due to prescription pill addiction which almost cost him his life on two
seperate occasions...
like his fifth studio set "encore" this one isnt as good as his earlier,or latter material, obviously for those reasons listed above.
but still some good moments at times( some passable, some downright aweful) but still three very good tracks including the ballad single "beautiful"...
the other two that i love are the final track "underground" in which Eminem spits his venom and angst better than any time since "the marshall mathers lp", the other brilliant track IMO is "insane" which is about the sexual abuse of a young boy at the hands of his stepfather....look, if you can get past the ovetones and seriousness of the song, and see it for the tongue in cheek humour that Eminem is so good at...and probably the only person who could get away with that stuff, so if youre easily offended by the subject matter in that song when i link it, or simply dont get Eminem's sense of humour then please...dont listen to it!
the rest of the album apart from a few tracks is very, very average...and i wouldnt advise anyone getting it unless they are true fans of Eminem, which, in any case...you'd probably own it anyway...
i see the lead off single from this album was a track called "crack a bottle"...i cant remember hearing that one on the radio at all, either way...crap track, and the next single "who made you" was pretty average also for an Eminem single...
i just about gave up on him after this one but thank God he came back in style with Recovery, unfortunately, he left me confused again with the latest album "marshall mathers lp II" last year, which i didnt even buy!
all up, not a bad album but nowhere near his best!

I don't know why I have this. Hope I got it real cheap. Didn't know the group was formed in the 50's as The Parliaments doing doo-wop. The lineup
changed over the years but even then George Clinton was the frontman. A contract dispute led to George changing the name to Funkadelic. Later it was
changed to Parliament and it was decided to record under both names with roughly the same lineup. Then they went to Parliament-Funkadelic. Call them
whatever you want, they are the same. Only one track I like on this collection and it was a push. If you want it come and get it.
