I play guitar and can play basic bass, though I'd love to learn another instrument. I'm very tempted to learn the harmonica. Anyone else here able to play that?

I've been playing guitar for 20+ years. I went to music college for guitar, recorded musicians in New York when I got out, then moved into sound editing for television and film.

This one is for scriptdoc (see comment above). Had to laugh when I read your comment. I know the feeling all too well. Bought a Bitstream 3X controller to simplify working with soft synths and to provide some tactile control. An absolute bloody nightmare to program. It's going to turn into one helluva expensive doorstop!
