I'm obssessed with this cover... this 15 years old girl changed the song a lot and made it so much better than the original (in my opinion of course).
I hope everyone enjoy it!

no idea why I own 2 of this thugs albums
but indeed I do
these are his first 2 albums
think I went for Gin and Juice off of the first one
when I found out what a disgusting creature he was
I swore off I thought
somehow I have the second one
from 1993

MACY GRAY "on how life is..." cd, 1999.
career stats:
studio albums.........8
singles..................27
this album..............#4 US...#1 AU...#2 CAN...#3 UK
singles:
"do something"................#103 AU.................#51 UK
"i try".....................#5 US...#1 AU...#19 CAN...#6 UK
"still"................................#21 AU.................#18 UK
"why didn't you call me"....#146 AU.................#38 UK
another of those "3 for $10" discount bin purchases....
I always loved/liked the singles off this album but for one reason or another I never purchased the album...until recently!
I love Macy's rough, gravelly, soulful vocals which to me is a female version of Otis Redding....
a couple of the tracks border on modern r+b but the rest are classic r+b IMO....
im surprised that her career went into a steep decline after this debut album...
sales for this one came in somewhere near the ten million mark worldwide, her follow up set sold less than half a million worldwide, and it got worse
from there!...shame really because she was a really soulful and emotive vocalist....
I LIKE THIS ALBUM
worst track: sex-o-matic venus freak
best track: I try
