Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass - The Lonely Bull - 1962 - *
![[Image: 200px-Lonelybull.jpg]](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/5/55/Lonelybull.jpg/200px-Lonelybull.jpg)
Considering all the horns, started to stick this in the metal thread:hand:, but I'm too new. Herb is also co-founder of A&M Records, but made his name with instrumentals with the band. Quite a success considering the times being what they were., 5 #1's, 28 albums, 8 grammys. This is their debut album containing the track that started it all. The Lonely Bull was a hit and is the lone standout on here for me. Love the mariachi sound overall, but after the 2 rating tracks, it's just elevator music.

Formed in 1978 in L.A. this is their second album. Quite a fall from their debut Beauty And The Beat to me. The catchy title track is by far the standout and all it takes for success is 1 hit. As far as the remake of Cool Jerk, please spare me. I included the original by The Capitols.
Favorite Track - Vacation
Can't seem to get my mind off of you
Back here at home there's nothin' to do
Now that I'm away
I wish I'd stayed
Tomorrow's a day of mine that you won't be in
When you looked at me I should've run
But I thought it was just for fun
I see I was wrong
And I'm not so strong
I should've known all along that time would tell
A week without you
Thought I'd forget
Two weeks without you and I
Still haven't gotten over you yet
Vacation
All I ever wanted
Vacation
Had to get away
Vacation
Meant to be spent alone
A week without you
Thought I'd forget
Two weeks without you and I
Still haven't gotten over you yet

Don't ask. Ok fine, I'll tell ya. This guy I used to work with came over to my desk. He said I'll trade you the worst cd I have for the worst cd you have. Had no idea what I was going to get. Gave him my KC and the Sunshine Band Greatest Hits someone else had dumped on me. I think he got the better deal. This is my story and I'm stickin' to it. This group is a Danish pop band formed in 1989, who hit the big time with this album and the single Barbie Girl. They split in 2001, but not before selling 33 million albums. But don't panic. They're on a reunion tour. Three #1 singles off this album in the UK, but I think only Barbie Girl made it in the States.

Do you wanna go for a ride?
Sure Ken!

I'm a barbie girl, in the barbie world
Life in plastic, it's fantastic!
you can brush my hair, undress me everywhere
Imagination, life is your creation
Come on Barbie, let's go party!

Life in plastic, it's fantastic!
you can brush my hair, undress me everywhere
Imagination, life is your creation
I'm a blond bimbo girl, in the fantasy world
Dress me up, make it tight, I'm your dolly
You're my doll, rock'n'roll, feel the glamour in pink,
kiss me here, touch me there, hanky panky...
You can touch, you can play, if you say: "I'm always yours"

As Doctor Jones entered the room to check on Barbie girl, he noticed the happy boys & girls sucking on their lollipop in the heat of the night at the time they were calling you. He exclaimed good morning sunshine, my oh my, would you let me turn back time, now that roses are red and I can be a man?

Pop duo that reached their peak with this, their 10th studio album. Two #1 singles off here, Private Eyes and I Can't Go For That (No Can Do), which also was a crossover hit to the R&B charts. Didn't get that, but whatever. The album reached #5 US and #8 UK. Last release was 2006 and their still at it.
Favorite Track - Private Eyes
I see you, you see me
Watch you blowin the lines when youre making a scene
Oh girl, youve got to know
What my head overlooks
The senses will show to my heart
When its watching for lies
You cant escape my
Private eyes
Theyre watching you
They see your every move
Private eyes
Theyre watching you
Private eyes
Theyre watching you watching you watching you watching you
You play with words you play with love
You can twist it around baby that aint enough
Cause girl Im gonna know
If youre letting me in or letting me go
Dont lie when youre hurting inside
cause you cant escape my
Private eyes
Theyre watching you
They see your every move
Private eyes
Theyre watching you
Private eyes
Theyre watching you watching you watching you watching you
Why you try to put up a front for me
Im a spy but on your side you see
Slip on, into any disguise
Ill still know you
Look into my private eyes

Some men that are looking for a good sign with their private eyes, while they are trying to keep their head above water during an unguarded minute, insist that I can't go for that. Just last week, friday let me down, while you in your imagination hope you can tell me what you want during your mano a mano phase that thinks you did it in a minute.

Internet sensation. Too bad it couldn't stay there. Pretty much most of what I dislike about pop music, and I can't even describe what that is. After awhile it just all blurs together. But hey, that's just me. I imagine there will be some big hits off of here with a little sexy video help. This is her 2nd studio album plus 1 Japanese. She is half. First album was acoustic material but full blown pop production here. First single, Avalanche was released back in April. An actual video on track #6, the rest are just audio.
Favorite Track - Shoulda Been Simple
Had every word prepared
wasn't even scared
Rehearsed the scene a
million times and still
felt no where
You were just down the hall
Not knowing at all
What was about to happen when
I laid it on the line
'Cause it's written on my face
Though you see it in my eyes
How do you tell someone you love
what's gonna hurt
don't wanna hurt
So when I'm too long
And telling you what's wrong
I tryed and couldn't bring myself
(It shoulda been simple)
So many times I've tryed
The time was never right
It was so complicated
(It shoulda been simple)
Oh-oh oh-oh
(It shoulda been simple)
Oh-oh oh-oh-oh-oh
(It shoulda been simple) [X2]
There's no time for fear
visions kinda happen
No matter how this ends
today, I wanna leave here
as friends
it's not that I don't love
you (don't love you
don't think that I don't
care (don't care)
We were trying to fly a
plane, the wings were
just not there
And it's written on my face
Though you see it in my eyes
How do you tell someone you love
what's gonna hurt
what's gonna hurt
So when I'm too long
And telling you, "Be strong."
I tryed and couldn't bring myself
(It shoulda been simple)
So many times I've tryed
The time was never right
It was so complicated
(It shoulda been simple)
Oh-oh oh-oh
(It shoulda been simple)
Oh-oh oh-oh-oh-oh
(It shoulda been simple) [X2]
Remember the day that we
said that we wouldn't change
We changed
'Cause nothing's the same
anymore since that day
That day
Shoulda been, Shoulda
been, Shoulda been
(Shoulda been, Shoulda been) [X4]
Shoulda been, Shoulda
been, Shoulda been (Oh-oh) [X2]

It shoulda been simple to make love with a stranger and to know you by heart, so if you can just come find me, I'm sure we can score a symphony, and upon the arrival of daybreak we could be breathing underwater. Of course I feel that if we don't go overboard and create an avalanche, we could do even crazier things, which will make you come to life like a well oiled machine.

Not too bad for an all girl band. Obviously geared to a teeny-bop audience, they are signed to Disney. A little Jonas Brothers competition. Not a bad Cheap Trick cover. Some of those vids are terrible audio, but I like to get some live performances when they are there. I liked it.
Favorite Track - Read Between The Lines
Everything used to be simple with you and me
A picture perfect world
I don't know what changed, but you're not the same
You sure know how to confuse a girl
We were all about hanging out
Never had a single doubt
We would be forever more
But lately you're so distant, almost somebody different
That I never met before
You say it's all right, but something's wrong
I can see it in your eyes
If I turn around, will you be gone
Are we running out of time?
I'm not stupid I see through it
I can read between the lines
Ooh (Ooh)
Ooh, Oh
You used to call to say you miss me
Now I guess you're way too busy
It isn't hard to tell
What we had is fading and
I hear what you're saying
But I don't believe it myself
If it's all good, then I should
Feel better and I could pretend that
Everything's okay
Call it intuition or a premonition
But I can feel you walking away
You say it's all right, but something's wrong
I can see it in your eyes
If I turn around, will you be gone
Are we running out of time?
I'm not stupid I see through it
I can read between the lines
Guess I've been wasting time
I couldn't read the signs
But don't you worry 'cause
I know how to say goodbye

Half of Hall & Oates. That would be the first half. The brightest part of this album is probably that Robert Fripp produced. That fact didn't help. The material is just weak. His second solo album that did contain the top 5 single Dreamtime, which is the leadoff track, but it was downhill from there. Foolish Pride was also a single.
I did not like the album.
Favorite Track - Dreamtime
I saw you standing and I felt your rage
Like a dark cloud on a crowded stage
You were talking thru the smoke in your fantasy
I know you girl I know what to believe
Maybe things ainât been so good at home
And the people that you love never cared at all
You wanna run away donât care where you go
You wanna run away thatâs all you know
Believe itâs alright to fantasize
And say the words you think will satisfy me
But you know better than that
âcause you know whatâs a lie
Youâre living in dreamtime baby
Itâs time to wake up
Youâre living in dreamtime baby
Itâs time to shape up
In your dream itâs overcast
Rain comes down movinâ your way fast
You wanna run away donât care where you go
You wanna run away thatâs all you know
Turn a corner then you see a door
Walk on thru throw yourself on the floor
When youâre looking up itâs no surprise
Standing there is a man with movie star eyes
Think heâs gonna take care of you
The man with the plan thatâll see you thru
I say there ainât no way
âcause I know heâs a lie
Youâre living in dreamtime baby
Itâs time to wake up
Youâre living in dreamtime baby
Itâs time to shape up
I never saw anybody fall apart so fast
Living in dreamtime you know it ainât gonna last
Never saw anybody think sheâs so right and be so wrong
Living in dreamtime
Itâs hard to carry on
