I chose punk because that's what I mostly listen to, but I also listen to classical, metal, rock, country, indie, doo-wop, and swing.

I voted pop, but i listen to most of the genres on the list, except metal, jazz or blues.

i think here,most of the peoples like to listen the pop,because it is the genre which rules our life any where.Other remaining options come after this,i choose Rap.

I also listen to everything ! I picked Rock because it can encompass or include smatterings of the other genres.
(just one small example out of thousands - Dream Theatre and The Church (awesome group recommended by Crazy -Horse, thanks).
I tend to go back and listen to 1964 - 1980 rock a lot also.

I thought the same thing. No category for folk ? It's usually meshed in with rock so groups like Magna Carta , Fairport Convention, Thompsons and Lindisfarne may not be recognised. Sometimes you want to just listen to something low key.
Sorry to admit it, but I only recently discovered Nick Drake - Pink Moon,,,what a treasure and what a loss at such an early age !

agreed. Although I think we are talking about the difference of what is written as pop and what becomes pop. The Beatles IMO were a rock band. They became pop sensations.

I chose Alternative/Indie as that's what I usually end up listening to lately. Even the fact that I love R.E.M. which I would now consider pop, well they started out indie didn't they? When I put on Pandora I usually listen to the Alternative Country, Alternative 80's, Punk/New Wave or Indie/folk stations. So I guess that's where I fit, I think. But I love rock, well older rock. And I love pop, well older pop......

I feel relaxed when I am listening to those kind of music
