RE: What Are You Listening To? - Jerome - 03-08-2020
Journey at their very best - https://youtu.be/bjnFA3VIGio
Compare this to the current crap we are subjected to. No contest!

^^
yup, that'll wake up the neighbors for sure mate!.
BTW, noticed that Back In Black has made the charts again in the UK and Australia,
i did some research and realised it is 40 years old this year.
i remember the first time i heard "you shook me all night long" on the radio and it sent the chills up my spine!

PAVLOV'S DOG "pampered menial" cd, 1975.
their debut.
only own this and the follow up "at the sound of the bell".
for some reason i really like the second album but dislike this one,
starts off fine but goes downhill fast IMO
I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM
lead off single and favorite track:
![[Image: 220px-Pavlov%27s_Dog_-_Pampered_Menial_-...elease.jpg]](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/d/de/Pavlov%27s_Dog_-_Pampered_Menial_-_Columbia_release.jpg/220px-Pavlov%27s_Dog_-_Pampered_Menial_-_Columbia_release.jpg)
Both albums were the soundtrack of my much younger days Love ‘em.
Evocative of the goldrush, ancient trails and all that frontier kinda stuff – an almost baroque quality what with those outrageous vocals and range of instruments - some seriously good musicianship – scorching violin on Pampered Menial particularly. They managed to portray a romantic picture of things pioneering, in my head, at least! Nothing like them at their zenith - ‘Theme From Subway Sue’ is genius, IMHO, and among my favourite things, despite the misheard title! Such fab opening lyrics … https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrPrl3l-UB8
Watch the mountains and take off down the river
Take off twice from where you are
'Cause someday soon we'll take off down the river
And I'll see nothing of you at all
Tell the birds not to show which way I'm going
And tell the leaves to try and hide the way
Well give 'em gold – 'cause gold is nothing special
Tell 'em all to try and hide the way
And someday soon we'll find out where we're going
And someday soon we'll find the way
And if the love that you have for me is going
Well I'll see nothing of you at all

World Citizen - an EP by David Sylvian and Ryuichi Sakamoto - a different feel to anything else. Truly unique.
