a revisit
his fifth studio album of eleven,
this is the only one i own
lots of orchestrations on here
experts call it experimental trip-hop, jazz-rap, neo soul etc....
some Gospel sounding vocals, a real eclectic mix,
i can now see where the likes of Kendrick Lamar got his musical inspirations from
its just a shame he is a despicable excuse of a human being but that said....

when the best thing on here is that horrible "sexy mf" song that tells you how bad it is...
the only album of his i have heard and cant stand...

ELVIS COSTELLO & THE ROOTS "wise up ghost and other songs" cd 2013
a revisit
Costello backed up by the Jimmy Fallon house band
album is very funky musically for the most part
songs for the most part dont even sound like Costello songs rhythmically
im a huge fan of his music but i only like two or three on this album
and one of those is a re-write of "pills and soap" rebranded "stickout your tongue".
i acknowledge The Roots are definitely a 'tight' band but their sound does not blend with Costello IMO

his debut
originally released in 1978 when he was 19.
incredible that he wrote, performed, sung and produced everything on here
i guess he oozed self confidence at such a young age he felt he was good enough to do it all himself
album has eight tracks and a multilayered vocal album opener to entice the listener in to his world
album is a combination of rock, funk, R+B/soul and disco sounds
overall vibe of the album is similar to "off the wall" and his falsetto is comparable to MJ and can be mistaken in places too
one track im not keen on but the rest is pretty good IMO and would score around 2.1 which means

his thirty-second album of forty, Lynne owns 30+ of them
some full blown rock on here ("guitar")
some jazzy/bluesy moments too ("somewhere here on earth")
but mostly within the R+B, soul, funk styles
sounds remarkably like Bruno Mars on "chelsea rodgers"
yet remains distinctly Prince.
another very good latterday career album from this incredible artist.
album ranks around 2.4 which means

most stuff on here is R+B/soul, some in the style of Amy Winehouse
other tracks are pop/power-pop
great artist IMO, ashamed to say i only own this album by her

nowhere near the amount of foul language compared to the US dudes
at least they mainly rap about aussie life and dont try to pretend theyre gangsters from the hood...
still a pretty good album after 20+ years
it scores 2.2 from me which means

my second of four $2 thrift shop buys three days ago

his second of six, only thing i own
listened to album twice to at least get used to what its all about
fourteen or fifteen tracks on here
a third of them feature foul descriptions of what he wants to do with females which is a shame because...
the rest are half decent r+b/soul songs
as expected, lots of featured artists
favourite track on here features Lana Del Rey which i did not realise until i checked on Wiki
just checked, 14 tracks not 15,
five are gross and disgusting, two i love and seven i like gives an unexpected score of 1.8 which means
