One of her vids has 24 million page-views--a kind of testament. She was also on Later with Jools Holland, a more meaningful testament. Here's some--2 very different perfs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=raJRJodI3yo and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZ75T0Mf-7w << "ballsy" might be an inappropriate term to use--how about "impassioned"?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtbM6wwyA1U << no mopes or jokers or strictly promo appearances on this show. Ms. Cilmi has 3 albums after the OP, including a live session at Ronnie Scott's Club in London. BTW, she's Australian FWIW.

Beth Hart fans already know and others should know that she's had 2 top-notch albums in the last 2 years, the newest being an all-covers album that just knocks this Old Soul right out. Here's AMG on them: http://www.allmusic.com/album/bang-bang-boom-boom-mw0002413563 and http://www.allmusic.com/album/seesaw-mw0002515681 She also has a Live in Amsterdam piece with her touring partner Joe Bonamassa (life partners also?)--don't know if that's been officially released or just sorta snuck out. I'd have paid big dough to be part of that extravaganza...
Hope this is covered by "Fair use" doctrine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZtTxEFVp4I << reminds me strongly of a similar project by Pat Benatar, True Blue or even Steve Miller's Born 2B Blue--strong, reverent but not slavish
