Alexis Houston (born 1984) is a Bahamian-American, pop and R&B singer, songwriter and record producer. Early life edit: Alexis Houston is a half sister of singer Whitney Houston, and grew up singing at 'New Hope Baptist Church' in Newark, New Jersey. Houston spent most of her early years traveling back and forth between the United States, the United Kingdom and the Bahamas. While studying medicine in the United Kingdom and the Caribbean, Houston continued to pursue a career in music by singing and eventually composing. Music career edit: Getting her start as a songwriter and producer, Houston was convinced to take the foreground by prominent friends. Paul Russell of Sony/ATV Music Publishing was one such champion. Between that, her four and a half vocal octave range and a voice that she attributes to her musical influences Aretha Franklin, Sarah Vaughan and Chaka Khan. After being managed by Wade Perry and Kim Leon of 'Nippy Inc.' the entertainment company of Whitney Houston for a few years, before she formed her own music publishing and management firm, 'All's Well Music, Inc.' and eventually partnered with EMI Label Services to release music on her own label. On September 24, 2010, through a partnership between All's Well Music, LLC and EMI Music, Houston's solo debut album, Speak Love Life Lessons, was released worldwide. On this debut, she featured a variety of musical styles: pop, jazz, gospel, electronica and rock music. Album Releases edit: Houston's debut album, Speak Love-Life Lessons was released on September 28, 2010 through All's Well Music/EMI. An EP titled Change EP was released on August 3, 2010. Change EP - AWM/EMI 2010, Speak Love-Life Lessons - AWM/EMI 2010, Speak Loud-The Remixes is the new EP project due June 11, 2013, Track listing "Prelude", "Bringin' My Love To You", "The Little Things", "Music Man", "I'm Ready Now", "Change", "Late Night - Interlude", "Speak Love", "Life Lessons (Part One)", "My Heart Won't Move On", "Actions", "See You - Interlude", "Inside", "Free", "Change" (Club Mix), "Outro", 2011-2012 - Bringin' My Love Tour edit: In 2011, a 30-date 'Bringin' My Love Tour' was organized by Marshall Artists for Houston. The tour which promoted her album, included performances at the Chelsea Stadium in London, Manchester and Wales. On September 6, 2011, Houston was the guest performer for The Prince's Trust Gala Dinner event at Langar Hall in Nottingham, England. During this tour Houston was also the special guest of the 2008 The X Factor (UK) winner Alexandra Burke at a co-headlining show at the Nightingale Club in Birmingham in August 2011. In September 2010, Houston appeared on UK morning TV show, This Morning and performed the song, "Actions".

The 'Speak Loud' remix album was released on monday (21/04/14) by AllWells Music.

Pretty impressed by the selection of mixes, definitely has something for everyone!

Can't wait to get my hands on her forthcoming single, Light which is due out late next month!
