SuperSax - jazzboCR - 19-04-2014 A 5-sax group that is only about Charlie "Bird" or "Yardbird" Parker. Some of the best players in jazz have been involved. From the early-70's to about 1990, they were The Beast in keeping Bird's music out there and accessible--they were great live with soloing, something not done on the albums. One of Bird's and their best was saved for last--Bird with Strings--a Japan-only release but still <$20 used on Amazon. Appetite whetted; let's get to it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcL0Qxa7RLY << Name of the tune says it all. This album won a Grammy.
