i have a box of 12" singles mostly consisting of electronic, hip hop and funk and soul that i have had for quite a bit of time. so what would be the best way to sell them

Unless you've had bad experiences with them, there's Amazon. Also if you live in an area where your music is still highly thought of or there's a reasonable collector base, try Craig's List. And then there are the classifieds in general or specialist music collector magazines--here is one such from the UK but there are others. Pricing and value are the key so maybe some research first? http://www.recordcollectormag.com/

What I did with some stuff on Amazon was find the cheapest 3 reasonable prices, added them up, divided by 3 then priced at 80% of that. Slow and tedious but at least you don't get raped by bottom-feeders. I'm assuming no immediate need to get rid of?
Your method will work but risks turning this Board into something of a marketplace. Maybe finding a member that can assist you privately...?
