Jackie Cain has died - jazzboCR - 19-09-2014

This name might not mean much to most-- she was 1/2 of the best jazz singing duo ever. But Jackie & Roy were so much more: they did commercials, some pop stuff, Beatles tunes, Broadway standards, always with a melodic core and always with grace. She will be missed (Roy died in 2002). 45 years of recorded wonderfulness: http://www.allmusic.com/artist/jackie-roy-mn0000106589/discography
Her obit: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/09/19/arts/music/jackie-cain-of-the-jazz-duo-jackie-and-roy-dies-at-86.html << embedded is a click-through to a nifty interview with Marc Myers (she was 81 at the time and still sharp as a tack). Some tunes:

I am late coming in on this! Sorry to hear of Jackie's passing! I loved her singing with husband Roy Kral...the clips are great JazzBo! Beatles' The Word was performed in that infectious Cain Kral style!..delightful interview with Hugh Downs and opening song Together Forever and then Day By Day the closer...utter joy...such warmth in their singing...so upbeat and inspiring to see what simple music means!!!
