Hi all, I'm a fourteen-year-old chap from Canada with a bit of experience on forums. I know that these intro threads rarely get many views, and that a lot of them are created purely for the sake of self-promotion, but I thought I'd follow the etiquette and introduce myself. I'm looking forward to discovering new music and meeting new people.

Well, I've only been seriously exploring music for about fifteen months, so my tastes are pretty narrow. I'm into a lot of '60s psychedelic rock and pop, as well as some of today's indie pop. Folk is a genre that I've really been getting into lately.
Some of my favourites include The Beatles, Paul Simon/Simon and Garfunkel, The Beach Boys, Billy Joel, Gordon Lightfoot, The Byrds, Barenaked Ladies, Animal Collective, Elliot Smith, Tame Impala, and Grizzly Bear.

Kinda figured that from your screen-name. And all your choices are good and have a lot of fans here--use "search" to connect (""around the choices gets you there). Haven't heard those last two groups--wanna post on them, bring them to the rest of us? Age/place aren't factors here--a sense of community is paramount. Good WiFi in the RR station. is there? Good on you for finding a quiet place to make your internal music... At your age, do you lust after these? (start at 13:42, it's a fun filler--and yes, I was there as a skinny, lonely geek--it gets better, trust me...more importantly, trust yourself).: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eXvBH71g-Y A thousand pardons if I got your gender preference wrong...And your tastes being narrow? This is the place to expand them at your pace and to your taste. Bring it!
