After the Temptations thread, I thought I would start posting some funk, starting with Soul Mover by Glenn Hughes:

I love funky music. You're aware that's the term for an aroused woman's sexual aroma? Sure in favor of that.... You knew I was gonna run this song out, right, if not by this guy?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AoATQO82k-k but for real: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFzNXUUSFF0 << what you wanna do when that aroma gets to you....Oh yes

Funk is very different style of music which depends upon R & B that reached to its heights popularity. There are many more collection of this type of music and I love to hear this type of music. Please launch some more songs of funk music.

Why leave it to us, MG? But I will meet you half-way--you mention some artists, and I'll do the heavy lifting of researching and posting some tunes by them. Deal?

Fifteen minutes of Stool Pigeon and improvising by Kid Creole and the Coconuts. Although they combined various styles, this remains funky - and I always liked the lyrics. Despite the introductions, I am not entirely sure who constitutes the group these days, apart from August Darnell.

As jazzbo has pointed out, feel free to post your own suggestions.
