Dana Fuchs and Shawn Holt--2 terrif Bluesers - jazzboCR - 04-12-2014
Dana Fuchs invites comparison with a great from the past as an old-skool powerhouse vocalist (she even played her on Broadway).: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68WXeyBtE0g << great intimate venue...and she doesn't need to hide behind a band...commenter The Dartfordian makes an apt comparo/syllogism
...Not that she can't front one effectively: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00ivygmm5N4 << no tortured angst here--this is a mature and robust woman's command and request--definitely not a wispy plea. I enjoyed her interaction with the BU singers and the band.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ennD6SCaFuE << fans of any band she covers need to pay attention to her take. What a gorgeous version she does...hell of a show-woman too...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WA1nw-CF_x0 << Takes guts to cover a song "owned" by another
Plays well with others: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBzemaZ9CUM << a stunning version
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgvX5-gV3qI << great pics--an enamored fan or a pro
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFFtG1D0Ck0 << The Beatles meet Led Zep
An AMG of an '11 album: http://www.allmusic.com/album/love-to-beg-mw0002113039 and Website: http://danafuchs.com/
BONUS: nice very personal studio session with current music partner/former lover.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lF7tUJOcqmE << You and/or the women in your life might appreciate this--she's not just a belter. Only current singer in the same league is Beth Hart q.v.
Shawn Holt Not the same pyrotechnics as above but better bloodline--he's Magic Slim's son and picked up his band. Solid mainstream-modern Blues guitar. Effective vocal and solid band. Beloved in Denmark as his father was. Website: http://www.shawnholtandtheteardrops.com/ Thin catalog as yet but sure carries on the family honor in his playing and general comportment.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YuAjpJkCJA4 << killer drummer and nice C&R between the guitars
3 from a Danish show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kC1ZK3zapLs (2 for 1) and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYLl5wIrgyU (another 2fer post) and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LzCxe3oGeLE
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7nt2I4CvTE
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wv-mzu4-xIU << another prodigy given a shot and respect by a master. That fat guy dancing? I swear that's not me...

She was mentioned in passing but...yes indeed, with or without Joe Bonamassa.
