I could scarce believe my ears--somebody something doing novel and amusing with pop music...then I saw the instigator was Scott Bradlee, the White August Darnell. All became clear. They are currently in an extensive tour of the UK and Europe. http://postmodernjukebox.com/

Really Mr. Bradlee has a bunch of projects all going at the same time so will put in some of those:

YOU FREAKIN amaze ME, JAZZBO!!!!! Guess what I am hooked on ...Cristina Gatti singing modern hits in the 30s and 40s style!!!! Coincidence or telepathy???...lol I pine for the good old simple songs lately! Watching the old black and white TCM movies must be to blame! Heck Jimmy Durante from is singing Make Someone Happy on a TV commercial these days...dam addictive tune...lol!

SteveO--Thanks again for a compliment. You and Big Ears and Jerome and a few others are my target audience, though I sincerely hope that others who stumble on my ramblings and rumblings get inspired to explore the whatever I post...Don't forget Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and other retro nuevos--though nobody does what these folks do.
