A Blues woman for real - jazzboCR - 31-01-2015
If anybody thinks a Blues life is only about Black folks, here's a Caucasian woman to disabuse you of that notion. Candye Kane. A very smart woman who made some dumb mistakes (child outside marriage at 17, later a stripper/porn actress), then discovered her true self and recovered her way. Been making heart-felt, to-the-bone recordings since her major release at 27 (Clifford Antone believed in her and supported her). One tough woman who has channeled her pain, her turbulence into some great art. Her Wiki (it's tame): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candye_Kane Her Discog: http://www.allmusic.com/artist/candye-kane-mn0000945774/discography Her Site: http://candyekane.com/ Thom Jurek at AMG has a good appreciation for the artist and the disc: http://www.allmusic.com/album/coming-out-swingin-mw0002545986
