It can help stand out from the crowd with a whimsical handle...as long as you then step up and deliver the goods. Here's 2 that do.:
The Mighty Burnt Bacon is a soul/blues outfit in coastal California--terrif vocals, hip horns: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQwdHPZQOG4 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAtkG3RFevQ and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0LHkmAyriw and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1hZuwu3fHU and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7v_K6YH8b4 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqrIcM4J3vQ

A New-Orleans-music band. Vaud and the Villains Jokey in one sense; dead serious in another--that's N.O. music for you (tho' they're LA based): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyZTy4LAS24 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1wsMDAQJTg << this 2-fer piece takes you back 80 or so years ...on the chitlin circuit and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9-FY0HViAE and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SeUeRlQQseg and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stEGCvpjexc

These maybe should have gone in a "Local Heroes" Thread but I didn't want to bury them there.

Half the equation of building a music rep is just getting noticed. A funky or whimsical leader/band name sure can help. Here's two that have that covered:
Antsy McClain and the Trailerpark Troubadors
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4JaZNkjPiHM << Nice vocal harmonies
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nn6oVXk4mE << It's always been my philosophy... snuck a surf music segment in there, yes they did.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwbUI0iiT2A << While laughing your sweet cheeks off, take a second to admire the solid musianship
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEaOHrzztuc << As one commenter said--nice pairing of photos and song
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YJLlmZZ4aE << Tells it like it is

Miss Tess and the Talkbacks

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=il-t7B1rjRc <<...the music--songs and playing--has to be solid...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWoPCnD7vg0 <<...with these folks, it is.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0MIr85D_o8 << A common lament, I'm told
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHTaCWBXY1I << Pat Benatar did a killer cover of this song

A common thread with these 2 is appearances at Skipper's Smokehouse in Tampa, FL--they do incisive write-ups of the artists they present:
