Did someone mention Chicago's The Green Mill Tavern? - jazzboCR - 26-03-2015
Yes. Me...because it is a premier spot in a major city. And going by the goodly number of live perfs, very artist-friendly. Here's 3 who've starred there:
Clyde Stubblefield James Brown's fave drummer--the original "funky drummer"--is the skins in a group called the B3 Bombers. 1 CD and the review tightens you up: http://www.allmusic.com/album/live-at-the-green-mill-mw0000233913 A Site--Mr Stubblefield may be the best known but he's not the leader: http://dantrudell.com/b3bombers.html

The leader Dan Trudell also works the 88's in another group: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-87qNz67ng and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUfMa8s4j-Q << Same gig
