PAUL WELLER "saturns pattern"

latest offical teaser from the forthcoming album of the same name...
is it just me or does anyone else hear a distinct "put a little love in your heart"
influence happening here...plagaristic?, Hmmm, maybe close to it!
pleasant enough for a guy almost forty years into his career,
but nowhere near his best...certainly better than anything on his last album...
this one is okay, but nothing special!

here's Weller's Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_weller

an interview with artists talking about Paul Weller....
some high praise from Paul McCartney indeed in this interview at 0.40-1.15,2.30-2.52,7.40-8.15

Perhaps a remote hint of Put a little love ... but I really like the track! There are only a certain amount of note combinations...have we reached the limit?

I've been thinking this forever
doesn't the individual who plays a note of music owe royalties to the dude that first played that note?

So we owe royalties to those cavemen who discovered music? Even if there's a limited amount of notes available *, it's how you play them. Crisp? Languid? What?
* With which proposition I don't necessarily agree--there are still unexplored combinations. And did we mention rhythm patterns? Also Copyright Offices summarily exclude the obvious, which musical notes assuredly are. Interesting query, though.
