out of the windy city of Chicago, this soul legend was once a boxer before his singing career began, his first tune was the nice but little known[Delilah-1962]but his fortunes turned when his friend Curtis Mayfield started writing hits like...monkey time-hey little girl-pretty music-um-um-um-um-um-um-rhythm-the matador, the very nice[without a doubt-1967] even after his sixties run the major still had some hits...stay away from me-girl come on home-since I lost my baby's love, sadly we lost the major in[1994]but his music lives on...one of the greats...THE MAJOR!!
