Odd One Out - bob_32_116 - 06-05-2016
This site doesn't seem to have enough of the quizzes and riddles and other challenges that seem to be found on other music fora, so let's start one and see if it gains any traction:
Pick the odd one out from each list. In each case, all the items share a particular trait that's somewhat noteworthy, except for the odd one out which does not share that trait.
Example: Having four members in the band, that's not particularly unusual or noteworthy. A band being British, that's not specially noteworthy.
Having a married couple in the band, that would be noteworthy.
OK? Remember, it's a musical quiz.
1. The Beach Boys, The Beatles, The Who, AC/DC, Pendulum.
Clue: why have AC/DC recently had a lineup change? (Solved by CH)
2. Africa, America, Antarctica, Asia, Australia.
Clue: It's a musical quiz, remember, Can't say much more without giving the answer away.
3. Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Marillion, Porcupine Tree.
Clue: Who are/were in the bands? It's nothing to do with the music.
4. The Kinks, Heart, Blur, Oasis, Van Halen.
Blur - all the rest had siblings in the band. (Solved by CH.)
5. The Nazz, Nirvana, Genesis, No-man, Soundgarden.
Clue: It's not about the music or about the personnel - can't say much more.

Odd one out Pink Floyd.
Why? Something to do with Steven Wilson.
He's produced/remixed for the other four.
I remember seeing moaning and groaning about the Genesis 'remix' somewhere.
Probably wandering down the totally wrong garden path, but oh well ....
