I have listened to the whole album now though, and my circus mind is running wild.
While I hear you guys, I guess itâs the elements you arenât that keen on that most appeal to me. The story of my life! Lol!
I just get a sense that this is a Crosby whoâs happy â heâs kinda found his way back to what he was always good at, and letâs face it ⦠he was really good, that guy who almost cut his hair!
I donât mind the laidbackness â in fact, thatâs what does it for me, and I think it all goes a bit deeper than what you might find at initial listening; I find a peace in the whole thing, but joy and confidence as well â as though heâs finally found his way back to the heart of being David Crosby, albeit a bit late, and he has done so with no regard for this present place and time. Itâs his truth and thatâs what counts IMHO â yes he sounds old, but itâs quite interesting that laying bare that very vulnerability lends a huge amount of authenticity to his album, probably because it allows us a glimpse of his humanity and a fate we all share.
