NEW ALBUM: Robert Plant | Alison Krauss – Raise The Roof - Ruby - 25-11-2021 ROBERT PLANT | ALISON KRAUSS – Raise The Roof One thing is for certain – Mr Plant is no fake. He still has whatever it is, in spades. He’s pretty amazing IMHO – as is Ms Krauss. This is an album of covers and the perfect, if least likely duo to execute them. I’m not crazy about all the songs but they’re all well done – without exception. An eclectic mix, as you can see. I don’t mind the fact that these are covers as I have not heard half the tracks in their original form anyway! And yes, some covers are awful, but some are improvements too - at least that’s my take on the subject. Plant has a way of putting an alternative spin on things which is quite fascinating and Alison is a really graceful performer. Not sure who did what in terms of arrangement, perhaps they had an equal hand in that. I find their interpretation of "Price of Love" much more listenable than the Everly Brothers - with apologies to them - they did have fabulous voices.  Tracklisting with original songwriting credits: 1.      Quattro (World Drifts In)–  Joey Burns, John Convertino (Calexico) 2.      The Price Of Love  – Don Everly, Phil Everly 3.      Go Your Way – Anne Briggs 4.      Trouble With My Lover – Allen Toussaint 5.      Searching For My Love - written-By – Bobby Moore (16) 6.      Can't Let Go – Randy Weeks 7.      It Don't Bother me – Bert Jansch 8.      You Led Me To The Wrong – Ola Belle Reed 9.      Last Kind Words Blues – Geeshie Wiley 10.  High And Lonesome – Robert Plant, T Bone Burnett* 11.  Going Where The Lonely Go – Dean Holloway, Merle Haggard 12.  Somebody Was Watching Over Me – Brenda Burns 13.  My Heart Would Know – Hank Williams 14.  You Can't Rule Me – Lucinda Williams, Tom Overby Love the opener … different vibe to Calexico but no less sensitive – RE: NEW ALBUM: Robert Plant | Alison Krauss – Raise The Roof - Music Head - 05-12-2021 enters the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart at #7 courtesy of Spotify surprised Zeppelin didn't destroy Plants voice sounds good for 73 nothing to not like here just like the last one live
