NEW-ish ALBUM: Joy Crookes - "skin" - CRAZY-HORSE - 21-02-2022 deezer listen: UK/Bangladeshi singer... 23 years young... debut album.... released last October in her homeland (England)... music flits between REAL r+b/soul through to jazz and blues influences... some lovely orchestrations with piano based tunes... sounds seductive, sultry yet fragile at times (often in the same song)... i think her voice would lend well to the 007 James Bond franchise themes... vocally, sounds like Amy at times, maybe some Sade... a couple of clunkers on here but very enjoyable for the most part... i like this album "poison"  -  Joy Crookes - Poison (Audio) - YouTube  audio favorite: RE: NEW-ish ALBUM: Joy Crookes - "skin" - Music Head - 22-02-2022 nice find CH I hear a little Macy Gray at times standout for me RE: NEW-ish ALBUM: Joy Crookes - "skin" - CRAZY-HORSE - 23-02-2022 Ah-Ha!...Macy! i knew there was an obvious one but i couldnt for the life of me remember, thanks mate.
