NEW ALBUM: Neil Young & Crazy Horse - "world record" - CRAZY-HORSE - 17-11-2022 deezer listen: his 42nd solo album. tenth newly recorded album in the last ten years (unreleased releases not included)... not really a fully fledged rock album, not easy listening neither so 'alternative' is where ive put it... third album in a row with CH, a first for them... was expecting an album of noisy grungy guitar drenched reverb like the lead off single but of the eleven tracks eight or nine are mainly harmonuim or keyboard/piano based, most songs also under three and a half minutes and only one that is of any length, "chevrolet" which clocks in at 15 minutes... Rick Rubin on board to twiddle the knobs on this one also... simply melodies simple tunes and simple lyrics all of which you would have thought ws written by a thirteen year old in his bedroom... songs deal mainly with, yep you guessed it, global warming and climate change with a couple of car songs thrown in for good measure. looking back over the last ten albums i really think i would struggle to make two decent albums if i picked the best tracks from that period.. still waiting for him to either burn out or fade away..... best of a bad bunch:
