NEW ALBUM: Kasey Chambers - "backbone" - CRAZY-HORSE - 05-10-2024 Spotify listen: from Australia thirteenth studio album a mainstay of real country music this album is no different, great stuff her ex Shane Nicholson turns up on one track 'divorce song' where they try to figure out what went wrong... interesting bonus track on here, a banjo backed cover of Eminem's "lose yourself" which isnt too bad, who'd a thunk it??? nothing bad on here weakest track is the new single i posted best track: RE: NEW ALBUM: Kasey Chambers - "backbone" - CRAZY-HORSE - 11-10-2024 debuts at #3 here in her homeland this week i doubt she will chart anywhere else but i guess she could make the Billboard country charts next week... anyway, if you are short of albums this next week MH you could give this one a go RE: NEW ALBUM: Kasey Chambers - "backbone" - Ruby - 13-10-2024 As y’all know, I’m not crazy about country, per se, sorry – but that said, I’m also not at all averse to a bit of alt country and what is referred to as newgrass (with the sincerest of apologies, again, to the purists among us!). I listened to this album though, and whether it’s entirely my thing, or not, I totally understand why she is held in high esteem. I did like a few of the more edgy tracks, e.g. “Dart and Feather” and the very heartfelt ones, like “Arlo” – a song for her son, and then those with a real old timey feel “little Red Riding Hood” and “You Are Everything to Me”. Real music - phew!
