Little Known Musical Facts - gryphon - 23-03-2010 I am often interested by the twists and turns of Rock and Roll history..........Sometimes there are some great facts that are largely unknown and might have had a great effect on the course of modern music...........so, I think it is time we started a thread to share the ones we all know: 1) David Bowie approached Apple records for a recording contract . If he had been signed, what a interesting thought , the Beatles and David Bowie side by side in a recording studio !!
Little Known Musical Facts - gryphon - 27-03-2010 There is a great site which covers all things to do with rare Beatles recordings acetates etc at THE SOURCE - Beatles Acetates, Raw Tapes & more On this site is an interesting item: THE SOURCE - Other Tapes - "1976 Reunion" Offered for sale ( ON e-bay?) was the above tape box...................the tape of which could have been a tape of a 1976 Beatle reunion????????????? Interestingly enough, the tape has been bulk erased ( Although after Watergate we know that traces of the original contents could still be revealed) The other claim is that there could be another copy in the vaults somewhere. The most interesting part is; McCartney's reaction to the tape.............he tends to get hot under the collar when people get close to things he does not wish to discuss, ( Can't blame him !) but this might give weight to the story. As I suggest, this is merely an interesting story and with the general disenchantment of the Beatles, with each other musically, it is unlikely to really contain classic performances but...............................
