I have been a music related collector for some 40 years so I guess I can give some sort of guide
The first area I would look at is recorded material ( CD Vinyl etc)
- Rare records of big bands
- Overseas issues of albums singles EPs ect
- Export copies of UK albums
- Promotional copies of albums singles
- Radio station only issues of albums
- Early albums of obscure groups which feature people who went onto become famous
- Acetates
- Unreleased albums , singles etc
- Withdrawn albums
- 78s or particular bands such as The Beatles....Elvis......The Stones
- Autographs with authentication
- Hand written lyrics
- Songwriters drafts cassettes , acetates etc of unreleased songs
- Signed guitars
- Posters with autographs
- Personal letters ..etc
- Clothes worn by famous artists
- Photographs of artists ot taken by them
- Books
The Holy Grail ..........Beatles promo singles....................Beatles Butcher covers...................Beatles Acetates...................Guitars owned by Beatles or Elvis
For me personally................things given by the artist to me.
