As many of the regular members of MD know I have a real soft spot for Magna Carta and believe that they have never really enjoyed the success that they deserve....................There are not many people who can say that they have spent nearly 42 years continually on the road ......................Chris Simpson is one of he true survivors of the seventies and is still promoting and playing his music here in 2010............This morning he lifted off from Manchester to begin a month long tour of South Africa.................It is rare that the Band pick up regular or widespead publicity but I came across the following web page which talks about there near hit in 1970 .........The Airport song::

I have known Chris Simpson ( who is the mainstay of Magna) for several years now. He has visited me in The Netherlands around five times ............we have been to him in Yorkshire for few days..................I was with Chris ad The Band at the Carre in Amsterdam as an invited friend and we partied afterwards. Chrsi and I write often , sms often chat about life , music , the universe .
I have rescued him and his partner when they were stuck in NL ..............
So I guess we are good mates ....
We also know and talk with his ex wife Linda often
I Know Tommy Hoy as well
Matt Barnhoorne and I are friends ...............
I was going to be tour manager for the 2011 Dutch tour but I had not enough time at the moment !
