soloman burke died,aged 70 on a plane bound for amsterdam on sunday 10th october, he was due to perform in the netherlands on tuesday night. he leaves behind 21 children and 90 grand children.
he was one of the finest soul singers of the 1960s on the 'atlantic' label, he never had a major hit but was known as 'the king of rock n soul' amongst his peers
