Obscure Classics 3: Repent by Charles Gayle - mtthwibrahim - 10-12-2011 Continuing with my third installment, I thought I'd delve into jazz a bit. "Repent" is free jazz. I don't mean that saxophonist Charles Gayle is playing free jazz (which he is), I mean that this album is the embodiment of the genre. Through the album's two track run ("Repent" and "Jesus Christ and Scripture") Gayle's sax squeaks and sceams, while the rest of the band work with him, creating a surprisingly cathartic sound. This is album is truly only for the strong, but those who can take will be amazed Obscure Classics 3: Repent by Charles Gayle - SteveO - 11-12-2011 Never heard of him, Matt !
