I've tried mono, lowering the bit rate to practically nothing, raising the volume, lowering the volume, raising the bit rate, trying acc rather than mp3, and also tried wav, re-encoded directly from cool edit, simply put the mp3 in after the fact. I also have tried to record several different ways, using different mics and doing no audio processing. I think YouTube simply doesn't like the sound of the flute. It must have some harmonics that the new codec doesn't like.
