after a brief discussion in another thread i was wondering what you guys consider to be 'signature tunes' of artists...any artist?!
put foreward your suggestions and lets discuss...
i'll start off now

well for a start I would say deep purple would have smoke on the water as their signature , procul harum would have a whiter shade of pale , Steppenwolf would have born to be wild. im only saying that because in those cases it is the best known song for that particular artist , kate bush would have wuthering heights. the trouble with this is that a lot of people then forget all of the other fantastic songs and tracks that have been recorded by these people and consequently they only define them by one song. another example would be the moody blues with nights in white satin which althiough a great song is only a tiny part of the other fantastic music that was made by this artist.
