In the music business do you think musicians are getting a fair deal? Your thoughts please.:confused:

If they are signed to a label - generally no, except for those that have a monumental following. For example, when the X-factor (Syco's label) puts up a million dollar recording contract as the first prize in their competition it does not mean the winner gets a million bucks to go and record the album of their dreams. Sure, they get their album recorded, minus marketing expenses, studio time, session musicians, video production, wardrobe, producer's salary, mixing, mastering, PR etc. etc. The million gets swallowed up pretty quickly. And that money gets spent on the production houses and studios owned by the self same company holding the competition. So the money comes back to them. They don't lose. Not ever. Now if the winner WAS given a million bucks (which should be the case) to go and produce the album of their dreams at a studio of their choice, things would be a hell of a lot cheaper. And probably better too.
