How a movie can revaluate a song of the past. - Bellini48 - 25-07-2013 When I watched Tarantino's 'INGLORIOUS BASTERDS' I listened to, not expecting to hear it, one of David Bowie's songs out of the past: PUTTING OUT THE FIRE WITH GASOLINE. I hadn't heard it in ages and positively loved it. What an atmospheric, dark song. Have you guys got any other suggestions of the sort? How a movie or TV production can re-introduce a nearly forgotten song and give it new thrust? I think an equally good source are TV series--some of them have top-notch in-the-minute song use. None readily come to mind but when I tip a series, if the music's there, I say so. |
