Sir Paul McCartney... - CRAZY-HORSE - 12-08-2013 im just curious as to what Paul McCartney solo albums do you guys own and which ones you like best of all... i'll start off.... i own all of Macca's post material that has been officially released... my top five albums would probably be: in no particular order!!!! 1. Tug Of War 2. Back To The Egg 3. Venus And Mars 4. Flowers In The Dirt 5. Ram my least favourite albums would have to be 1. Speed Of Sound 2. Wildlife 3. Kisses On The Bottom 4. Chaos & Creation In The Backyard 5. his first two Fireman albums Sir Paul McCartney... - Music Head - 12-08-2013 lol you know I can't give a ranking without a proper listen as far as what I own, all on vinyl everything up through Back To The Egg after that Tug Of War and Press To Play that's it Sir Paul McCartney... - CRAZY-HORSE - 12-08-2013 ...and Memory Almost Full on cd, courtesy of some weird Aussie guy?! Sir Paul McCartney... - CRAZY-HORSE - 13-08-2013 Band On The Run....i think its a good 'allround' album but i dont think it is brilliant by any means...musically i love it, but i think Macca's lyrics are pretty weak... the song Jet for example, the music is up there with any rock track ever recorded, but lyrically, its too repeatative IMO... i love Bluebird,Let Me Roll It, and Mamonia...some countries had Helen Wheels as an album track, i love that one also, but i feel it was stuck on the end of it and doesnt fit with the rest of the album, should have stayed as a stand alone single like it was in the UK... interesting you picked McCartney II in your list SteveO...very good album IMO, but the two instrumentals and 'darkroom' let it down for me, this is actually Dani's favourite Macca album also, but she hasnt heard them all, One Of These Days would definately be up there in my top10 of his of all time, superb track IMO, Temporary Secretary, another piece of Macca brilliance. Sir Paul McCartney... - SteveO - 13-08-2013 Paul played Winnipeg, Canada last night and from the looks of it on You Tube he has a new playlist, Eight Days a Week, Lovely Rita, Just Another Day, Nineteen Hundred and Eighty- Four and a few more !!!! as for McCartney 2, I like the instrumentals since Macca is a multi instrumentalist and I also have to put Unplugged Live up there...I forgot! Sir Paul McCartney... - CRAZY-HORSE - 14-08-2013 LOL....he could change his set list completely every night for around 1000 shows i guess, before he got to redo them again.... good to hear he is now doing "1985","lovely rita" and "another day".... the guy has written so many good or great songs that you could never be dissapointed with any setlist he plays!, i guess the staple songs of a current Macca set would have to include hey jude, live and let die, jet, helter skelter, back in the ussr, yesterday & long and winding road though, either way, great to see heis 'varying' his list as it must get boring doing the same 25-30 songs night after night, well its gotta be, because it gets monotonous hearing the same ones over and over agin on cd! Sir Paul McCartney... - SteveO - 14-08-2013 You are so right Crazy mate! I wonder what the local talent guest was that he had come up on the stage with him in Winnipeg? The Nova Scotia Highlanders Pipe Band paraded up and did Mull of Kintyre with him here...very emotional! Billy Joel went up on stage and sang I Saw Her Standing There with Macca in New York! |
