Would it still be popular? - echanemartin - 22-01-2014

I've been producing trance music for a while now, but I've never got to finish any of my projects, something always comes up.. I start writing a new one, I start having different ideas from what I've started using, so I keep on starting new ones.. But recently, I started listening to older trance music that are still pretty analogue sounding from the drums to the bass synths, and I actually still like the sound of them so much that I think that's what I should start producing, a little older sounding stuff.

I'm not looking to copy Rui Da Silva's Touch me, but I really like the sound of it, and I was just thinking.. if I produced something like that, but I still made it sound "appropriate" and similar to the sound of Armin Van Buuren's Intense album, would it be still picked up and listened to by a lot of people (if it's really catchy of course) or should I not even bother with trying it..? Does anyone think trance music like Tiesto used to make has a future?

Yesterday I actually found out that vinyls are coming back, people started buying them again due to their quality and to the feeling of actually holding the vintage, physical copy of a song, and this also kind of gave me some energy..

So, what do yous think?

Thanks,

ec.

I bought Tiesto some years back. It ended up in the bin.

I enjoy some of this music once in awhile for a change!

There is no harm in trying!
