Garth Brooks in Ireland - Jerome - 30-01-2014 Mr Brooks is coming over to play a concert here and you'd swear the Pope was coming over for a visit the way people are going gaga over this concert. I don't know his music at all so I decided to have a listen on YT. For the life of me I cannot make out what all the fuss is about. Average songs with below average lyrics. All very pedestrian/middle of the road/hillbilly nonsense to me. Garth Brooks in Ireland - Music Head - 30-01-2014 totally agree biggest hyped country act ever rates with Billy Ray Cyrus to me Garth Brooks in Ireland - Jerome - 30-01-2014 Music Head Wrote:totally agree And he's got the nerve to charge 248 dollars a ticket for the privilege as well. Ludicrous. (Sorry to bump your J CD's thread back down MH but I had to post this - move it back up when you have a chance) Garth Brooks in Ireland - CRAZY-HORSE - 30-01-2014 Jerome Wrote:All very pedestrian/middle of the road/hillbilly nonsense to me. is that your description of Music Head my chance???? (Sorry to bump your J CD's thread back down MH but I had to post this - move it back up when you have a chance) some concert ticket prices are ludicrous Jerome... the Stones are charging an average of $500 here...that is pathetic...four guys over/around 70, they just aint gonna be able to do what they did even 20yrs ago! at least i get to see The Boss for $135 a ticket...thats relaistic, but some of his prices go to $400+ also...! i cant understand why anyone would pay that for a concert ticket, doesnt matter who it is! $100 should be enough to see anyone IMO... we see The Hollies two nights after The Boss...$90 for those guys and im pretty sure those old opo folkies can do what they did back in the day... Neil Finn in march, could probably charge what he wanted out here also with his back catalogue and loyal fans but $99 for him also! pretty sure Neil Young was just over the $100 mark last year, likewise Nickelback and Waters. i still remmeber when $50 was top of the range price(McCartney in 1993/4) from memory(and he could still sing then. if i pay $248 for a ticket i want to see Beatles or Elvis Presley, not Garth Brooks, who incidently always reminds me of what i'd call a 'city cowboy') and BTW, i dont rate him at all neither and i like country(real country) Garth Brooks in Ireland - Jerome - 30-01-2014 CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:is that your description of Music Head my chance???? ?????? Good God no - MH has taste - check out his own response to GB post. Garth Brooks in Ireland - Jerome - 30-01-2014 500 dollars for the Stones!!! Anyone who pays that is just plain nuts. Garth Brooks in Ireland - CRAZY-HORSE - 30-01-2014 i guess theres about 80,000 people down under who are nuts then(im not one of them, well, i might be, but im not going to see The Stones!) Garth Brooks in Ireland - SteveO - 31-01-2014 500 for the Stones...never???? Stones were under 200 here 5 years ago (about 80,000 at Magnetic Hill also). Macca was 135, 4 years ago here. My daughter's Christmas gift to me was $160 for the upcoming April Black Sabbath concert. Garth Brooks in Ireland - SteveO - 31-01-2014 To be truthful I have never listened to Garth very much!
