Hello everyone. This is not only my first time posting, but it is also my first time visiting this site. I will admit now that I am not very familiar with this site, but I thought it was a good place to ask for help.
For a very long time I have been searching for a contemporary hard rock group (with a female vocalist) that is top notch (according to me anyways). There's lots of female vocalists out there, but it seems it's either too much pop, too much angst or too much goth. I know that opinions on what is good can vary wildly, but so far nothing I have discovered has scratched that itch. The closest I ever came to that was an obscure Canadian group called Sonica, but they dropped off the face of the earth before they even found their stride. I know there are good rock groups out there with female vocalists, but to clarify I'm looking for something with more of an edge, but also something smarter, deeper. I'm more into bands that are on the technical, progressive and experimental side like Tool or Karnivool.
I will give everything suggested a chance, assuming I haven't already heard of them myself. Feel free to ridicule me, too, if you want. Just try to slip a suggestion in there with it.
Thanks!
