album #20 for JJ....
his albums are generally hit or miss for me so I was both hesitant and eager to see
where his twentieth studio album would lead...
eight tracks...
as usual, all tracks are built around the piano...
I actually listened to this one twice...
the opening track, "big black clioud", has Elvis Costello written all over it...
"dave" sends him back to the early 1980s...
"strange land" is almost classical in nature...
"friend better" has Finn Brothers written all over it...
"fool", some explicit language, love the tempo changes, ala Macca...
the remaining tracks, as eclectic as anything he's ever recorded IMO...
very, very good album indeed...
