Spotify listen:
a huge fan of their pre-1985 era...
eighth studio set, first after an eighteen year lay off...
probably second to only The Clash for their political songs back in the day...
but had no peers as England's premier Ska band...
album starts off with a couple of almost funk tunes which was surprising...
then we get into familiar territory with their trademark political edged Ska...
back in the day it was Thatcher and Reagan that were the targets of their ire,
nowadays, you guessed it, its Trump and Brexit...yawn!, yawn!, yawn!....
all up though,
not a bad album, but then again. not that much to rave about,
just seems to be all light and fluffy like marsh mellow for my liking...
i'll just stick their debut album and the 12" full version of their "Nelson Mandela" song
and reminisce the 'good old days' of UK Ska...
feel free to skip forward to 3:39 for a cool live version of "a message to you,Rudy"
if you want to hear classic Specials...
