as a footnote,
Dolly offered the song to Elvis in the mid 70s but when Elvis' manager Tom Parker demanded half of the writing rights she refused to comply and he never got to record it. she used to say in interviews "it was the easiest yet hardest decision of my life but when Whitney covered it I earned enough money from it to have purchased Graceland if I wanted to"
