I just stumbled upon that:

I want to know what you people sincerely think about that.

Positive or negative, philosophical or emotional or anything, just say what you wanna say.

My first though was "where exactly is going music these days ?"

I do not like it.
I do not like green eggs and ham.

But, I've been saying the same thing you said in the last sentence for about 30 years now.
Actually I said music going rather than going music.

You almost tricked me into listening to a Justin Bieber song! For shame!

I can't believe you made me hear that... I have been avoiding that guy for so long, he seems damn popular.. So I had an idea what kind of music he makes, now i know that as well..
I remember another kid called David Gillman years ago... atleast his song was decent and he had a damn good voice.. I woonder what happened to him..

I pity the kids who grow up believing that's music... Atleast I am proud my dad had a good listening taste (CCR, Eagles, Brotherhood of man, mostly loads of country.)

It ain't to my taste, but it's harmless. Very smartly targetted, you'd have to admit...

My view is that it was ever thus. There has always been a bountiful heap of musical crap served up to less discerning listeners, who seem to consume it with relish.

I tend to ignore the stuff, so it doesn't really worry me.

Me too...and that brings the subject to the true definition of music. How can we judge that it's not music? Why would a Beatles song be called "true music" and a Justin Bieber song called "not music"?

I know that we all think in ourselves that the Justin song is not real music, that's even the reason I started this thread. But who can put an "official definition" of what is music? There is some noise music, this may be even less music than Justin!

I just wanna point out that even if we are shocked by Justin, we must admit that for those who like him, it's music. Even if I see this as 100% "producer who wanted to make money with young audience", I must accept the naivety of the teens about their definition of music even if like we said, "I pity the kids who grow up believing that's music..."

I really don't care what people will define as "true music". I don't care what's popular.

Just like Tig I don't let any of this worry me. There is plenty of new music being made that I do like. I ignore the rest.
