Over the years I have discovered new artists or artists I was familiar with but didn't own at garage sales or used record stores. Sometimes I find low priced albums at music chain stores also. Usually you can discover interesting music at garage/yard sales or flea markets(large yard sale namesake in Canada...don't know the origin ???) for the price of pocket change.
Recently I paid $7 dollars for the following CDs at a yard sale.... Motorhead - No Sleep at All, Yes - Yessongs, Traffic - John Barleycorn Must Die, Jeff Beck - Beck Ola,Jeff Beck - Live at Ronnie Scott's, Stevie Ray Vaughan - Double Trouble-Couldn't Stand the Weather ( with Voodoo Chile on this) and the best of CCR.( a dollar each.....all in good shape !!!!)!

I have been an avid record collector since the age of about 10 or so. I used to visit towns just to find the second hand shops and get some new records.
Around 1977 or so I decided to go to Doncaster in the UK and find the second hand area and shops ............I did and it as really seedy place . Doncaster is a UK city in the North which is working class and industrial.
So about ten shops in I find a great one with boxes of cheap records.........I look around and sift through the boxes ...........Everything in here is 50p ( about 50cents ?) I 've got about six or so and he guy says that he had another box under an old table that I have not looked in.
I pull it out and they gut says got en off a rep ...............About 6 in is an apple label...........a custom one which is white on green ......I take a quick look .........its Beatles and for 50p it's mine
I buy eight records or so and then go out ..........I've got an apple single which I take a further look at...............
Type written label , custom Apple label
Typed on one side is APPLES 1002 You Know My Name .............The other side WHATS THE NEWS MARY JANE
An unreleased Beatles gem !

No I sold it for 600 GBP in the 80's to a dealer..............Occasionally I see it traded for a better and better price!!!
Still I owned it !

The first one that comes to mind is Tina Turner. I had forgotten all about her when I found Private Dancer for 75 cants in a thrift store. Love it!
