beside the words "unique" and "original" in the dictionary there are pictures of David Bowie! makes you wonder what other "little surprises" he has in store for fans, doesn't it? seriously, the guy was light years ahead of everyone else in the industry with just about everything he did and the latest surprise confirms it once again.

Hmmm... accordingly to some pedants, all stars are black in the strict scientific sense of the word. That is, they do not reflect any of the light that falls on them.

A tree is green because it reflects mostly light from the green part of the spectrum. A burned tree stump reflects little or no light, therefore, like the sun, it is black. What we call sunlight, or starlight, is an example of "black body radiation." The burned tree stump also emits black body radiation, but its temperature is much lower than that of the sun, therefore it emits in the infra-red so you need special glasses or cameras to see the "light" it emits.

and so concludes today's lesson conducted by Bob Hawking....! no I didn't mean Bob Hawke, LOL.

(you don't quite know us all yet bob_32, and so as not to offend you im letting you know that my comment was purely in jest)

We all should have guessed.
A black star is a dead star, as far as I’m aware.
Bet Bowie found that quite amusing.

"Scintillate, scintillate, globule vivific,
Fain would I fathom thy nature specific,
Loftily poised in the ether capacious,
Strongly resembling a gem carbonaceous!"

Star light, star bright
First star I see tonight
I wish I may, I wish I might....

Oh dear, it's just a satellite.
