After finally getting around to seeing the Guardians of the Galaxy film, I was thoroughly entertained and suprisingly impressed. The soundtrack throughout the film was one that I enjoyed from a movie in a long time. Not only was it a great collective of songs but served as the emotional core. The songs are:

12. Norman Greenbaum- Spirit in the Sky
I thinks this little mixtape, as the movie titles it is an "Awesome mix." Put together by the main characters mother as a gift of the songs she enjoyed as a child. Which brings me to the point of this thread. Could the awesome
members of MD share their own mixtape of favourite childhood songs. We'll stick to 12 tracks for this thread and I'll post mine once I narrow my own collective childhood songs.

From your list - I like 10cc - do you know how many layers of vocals were recorded in the studio to create that effect?- hundreds! David Bowie's Moonage Daydream is a classic. Always will be.

Mmm I don't think I got the idea of this thread across properly. I'd like for folks here, if they could, to share their ownixtape of songs that they enjoyed from their childhood. Even from your teenage years if anyone is up for it. For example I'm a 90s child, so any mixtape I share here is most likely a 90s mixtape. I've been trying to narrow it to 12 songs to stick with the same number of tracks of the Awesome Mixtape on the first post of this thread, but haven't made much progress. I've tried to list my earliest musical memories, of which She Loves You is probably the first. I haven't checked the dates, but some will be from around 1968 or so. I can think of several I've missed so I might need a second list. With Chicago's take on Led Zeppelin you can see things getting a bit heavier and soon after these I remember Curved Air, Frijid Pink and Jimi Hendrix.
